01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
About this place
Down a flight of stairs to basement level 1, where a glass front opens into a warm interior, Amica offers full-course Italian dining in the tranquil neighborhood of Hamadayama. The chef honed his craft at notable kitchens, including Ristorante Hiro and acclaimed French establishments, shaping an inventive approach that anchors itself in Italian cooking while weaving in precise French culinary methods.
From Straw-Seared Seafood to Handmade Pasta and Wild Game
The dishes arriving at the table are designed to bring out the distinct character of seasonal produce. Appetizers made with wild-caught fish, such as carpaccio enveloped in the smoky aroma of straw searing or plated with bright vegetable sauces, provide a vibrant start. The pasta selection features firm handmade chitarra or ribbons of fettuccine, served piping hot in sauces that capture the savory depth of seafood, seasonal mushrooms, and fresh vegetables. Game dishes like venison headline the mains, seared to a crisp exterior while keeping the meat exceptionally tender within, complemented by sauces reduced with fond de veau and fruit to elevate its natural depth.
Distinct Lunch and Dinner Courses Paired with Wine
At lunchtime, the kitchen offers a PASTA Course with an appetizer, a choice of pasta, dessert, and drink, as well as a full-course option that includes a main dish. Dinner revolves around an omakase tasting menu, paced thoughtfully throughout with refreshing touches such as a palate cleanser combining burrata, seasonal fruit, and basil sorbet. A comprehensive wine selection is on hand, and diners can opt for pairings poured in small measures alongside each course.
Decorated in understated tones of black and brown, the dining room accommodates around 16 guests across counter seating and comfortably spaced tables. Because capacity is limited, securing a reservation in advance is recommended for both lunch and dinner.
